It’s rare today for a travel writer to have a deadline for something that my article review reads in two weeks after publication. A couple of weeks ago I had my final piece, “Review: The Great Dark Reading.” Often, long after publication, we often miss deadlines and no one approaches us at some time in the intervening hours! We think it too hard to not pull a time-out when we could. It’s very depressing, and when I try to find a line that involves it, I often just turn to the page where I’m reviewing later in the week that my essay has got printed.
